Is Your iPhone Obsolete? Leaker Reveals iOS 27 Compatibility

With Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) just days away, reliable leaker Instant Digital has revealed the upcoming iOS 27 may mark the end of the road for several older iPhone models, specifically those powered by the A13 Bionic chip (via MacRumors).

The most significant rumour for many users is the list of devices expected to be left behind. The leaker suggests the following iPhone models will likely not be compatible with iOS 27:

  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE (2nd Generation)

This would make the iPhone 12 series the new baseline for Apple’s mobile operating system. While this is disappointing for owners of these still-capable devices, they will likely continue to receive security patches on iOS 26 for several years to come.

For those whose devices made the cut, the update is expected to reach a wide range of hardware, including the rumoured foldable “iPhone Ultra” and iPhone 18 series slated for later this year. Here is the purported list of iOS 27 supported devices:

  • iPhone 12 series (All models)
  • iPhone 13 series (All models)
  • iPhone 14 series (All models)
  • iPhone 15 series (All models)
  • iPhone 16 series (All models)
  • iPhone 17 series (All models)
  • iPhone SE (3rd Generation)
  • iPhone Air

Even if your phone is on the compatibility list, you might not get the full experience. The headline feature for iOS 27 is a massive overhaul of Siri, which is expected to finally transition into a full AI chatbot with its own dedicated app. This revamped Siri is reportedly powered by Google’s Gemini.
