Apple announced several additional features coming across its ecosystem, including updates to Photos, Health, AirPods, Vision Pro and Maps at WWDC. Apple isn’t explaining what’s new to each version of its operating systems, but going over new features across all of them.
Highlights include:
- iCloud Shared Albums will now support contributions from Android and Windows users (FINALLY), allowing people on different platforms to add photos and videos to a shared album.
- Shared Albums will also support full-resolution photo and video sharing.
- The Health app’s Cycle Tracking feature is gaining support for perimenopause and menopause. Users can receive notifications when cycle patterns may indicate perimenopause, track symptoms and access educational resources.
- AirPods are getting a new custom EQ feature, allowing users to personalize audio settings.
- On Apple Vision Pro, panoramic photos can be transformed into immersive spatial scenes with depth effects. Users can also use those panoramas as virtual environments.
- Maps is receiving a major upgrade to Flyover. Apple says new aerial imagery and vision intelligence models create more detailed city views, with improved rendering of buildings, trees and lighting reflections.
Apple said these improvements are designed to make its products more responsive and enjoyable to use across the ecosystem.
