Apple has unveiled a completely rebuilt version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence, transforming the voice assistant into a more capable AI that can understand personal context, what’s on your screen, photos, and apps.

During WWDC 2026, Apple introduced “Siri AI,” describing it as an entirely new version of Siri built around its latest Apple Intelligence architecture. This is the big ‘finally’ we’ve been waiting for.

“Siri AI uses our new Apple Intelligence capabilities,” Apple said during the presentation at WWDC.

The company says Siri AI can now understand personal context, perform actions across apps, recognize what’s on your screen, interpret images, and access broader world knowledge. Apple says these capabilities allow Siri to help users find information and complete tasks more naturally.

One demonstration showed Siri answering questions about a concert, finding ticket information, creating a reminder to enter a ticket lottery, and then playing music from the artist, all within a single conversation.

Apple also highlighted Siri’s ability to understand content displayed on screen. In one example, Siri identified a coastal location from a photo and then used information from a past message to locate a friend’s address and create driving directions.

The assistant can also search through a user’s photo library using natural language. Apple demonstrated asking Siri to find photos from a recent family trip and then add selected images to a shared family album without opening the Photos app.

Apple says Siri is now more conversational and can maintain longer discussions. Users can also revisit previous conversations through a new dedicated Siri app.

The company introduced a redesigned Siri interface and a new voice experience for devices that support Apple’s most advanced on-device AI model. Apple says the new voices sound more natural and expressive, while users can customize factors such as speaking pace and expressiveness.

Apple also announced a major upgrade to system-wide dictation. The company says dictation is now more accurate with improved spelling, punctuation, and capitalization across apps and services.

The new Siri experience extends beyond iPhone and Mac to CarPlay and AirPods as well.

Apple positioned Siri AI as a key part of the next generation of Apple Intelligence, bringing together personal context, app integration, visual understanding, and conversational AI into a single assistant experience.
