iOS 27 Wireless CarPlay Glitches are a Nightmare

While Apple fans are rushing to install the recently released iOS 27 beta 1 to try out the latest features, early adopters are discovering that the first build comes with some serious headaches.

In particular, wireless CarPlay functionality is proving to be incredibly unstable. Multiple early testers have taken to online communities to warn others about major glitches that make wireless CarPlay almost impossible to use.

The first major issue involves a frustrating infinite loop tied directly to audio streaming. Drivers report that while listening to tracks through Apple Music, the wireless CarPlay connection will suddenly drop without warning. Once the disconnection occurs, the iPhone or the vehicle’s infotainment head unit undergoes a rapid reboot cycle. As soon as the system restarts, the music automatically resumes playing.

However, seconds later, the entire system crashes all over again. This vicious cycle repeats continuously without any interaction from the driver, rendering the vehicle’s entertainment system completely useless during a drive.

Beyond the audio loop of doom, navigation apps are also suffering from severe user interface breaks. A prominent bug has surfaced for those who prefer using Google Maps over Apple’s native navigation app. When a user enters the Google Maps settings menu to switch the display over to the traditional satellite view, they hit a complete dead end. The settings overlay loading on the dashboard screen completely lacks a back button.

Without this crucial button, drivers are trapped inside the configuration menu and are completely locked out of seeing their live map or upcoming route guidance. The only workaround to clear the screen is to physically unlock the iPhone and force-close the app, which is a dangerous distraction while sitting behind the wheel.

Online forums are filling up with complaints regarding unstable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth handshakes following iOS 27 update , which form the exact foundation that wireless CarPlay relies on to function.

I don’t experience any of these issues. However, I can’t send a voice message using iMessage. Siri comes back with something went wrong. Try again later.
