Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Leaked Renders Reveal Major Redesign
With just about two weeks left until Samsung takes the stage at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, an exclusive leak from Android Headlines has pulled back the curtain on its next generation of foldable smartphones.
High-quality official product renders have laid bare the design, colours, and a surprising new naming strategy that could completely alter how buyers look at Samsung’s premium foldable lineup.
For the past few years, the biggest complaint from foldable fans has been the narrow, remote-control-like cover screen on Samsung’s book-style foldables. This year, it looks like Samsung finally listened, but with a massive twist.
According to the leaked data, Samsung is splitting its flagship line into two distinct variants: a brand-new, shorter, and noticeably wider model simply called the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and a more familiar, taller flagship called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The naming convention is an interesting pivot, effectively positioning the wider, redesigned phone as the baseline and keeping the traditional design for the premium Ultra tier.
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is arguably the most fascinating device in the leak. The renders showcase a device that completely throws out the narrow aspect ratio of previous generations. Instead, it embraces a form factor that feels far more like a standard slab smartphone when closed, making everyday typing and navigation significantly less cramped.
The physical restructuring also brings a massive weight reduction, with reports pointing to an ultra-light body weighing in at just around 201 grams. On the back, it features a simplified dual-camera array consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra targets power users who prefer the established aesthetic. It sticks closer to the sharp corners, flat sides, and taller proportions seen in previous years, but packs major internal upgrades.
The Ultra model features a pro-grade triple-camera array headlined by a massive 200-megapixel primary sensor. It also reportedly revives full S Pen stylus support, which skipped the previous generation entirely.
While the leaked renders give us a crystal-clear look at the hardware, they leave a few lingering questions for the July 22 event. The most critical remaining mystery is the price tag.
