Apple has officially opened the doors for early adopters (besides developers) looking to test the latest software features. If you want to get iOS 27 on your iPhone before the general public release later this autumn, the process is straightforward and free.

The company previously announced that iOS 27 and other public betas would hit in July, and now they are here.

To get started, you must first register your Apple ID with the Apple Beta Software Program. Visit the official beta website on your iPhone and sign in with your credentials. Once you have accepted the terms and conditions, your device is authorized to receive pre-release software updates.

Before you begin, make sure your device is backed up. Because this is pre-release software, it can occasionally be unstable or contain bugs that affect your battery life or app performance. Plug your phone into a charger and connect to a stable Wi-Fi network to ensure the update installs without any issues.

Next on your iPhone, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. You will see a new option for Beta Updates. Tap this menu and choose the iOS 27 Public Beta profile. After you select this, the iPhone will automatically search for the latest build. Tap Download and Install to begin the process.

We’ve been testing iOS 27 beta for developers and it’s been a pretty smooth version. This public beta release should be good to go right now.

Once the installation completes, your iPhone will restart, and you will be running the newest version of iOS 27 beta.
