Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition hits Apple Arcade in August
Apple and EA Sports have announced to football fans that Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition will officially launch on Apple Arcade on August 6, 2026.
The upcoming game is built specifically for Apple devices, bringing current NFL teams, realistic simulation gameplay, and a complete experience that of course has no ads or in-app purchases. Players can manage their teams in the depth-heavy Franchise mode, which features a weekly story engine to dictate team narratives, or jump straight into the action with Quick Play. To ensure a console-like experience, the game will offer seamless controller support across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.

“From the pitch to the court to the gridiron, Apple Arcade delivers an unmatched lineup of sports games for every kind of fan,” said Alex Rofman, Apple’s senior director of Apple Arcade, in a statement on Tuesday.
The developers at EA wanted to ensure the mobile release did not feel watered down compared to traditional console versions. Evan Dexter, EA’s vice president of Franchise Strategy and Marketing, noted, “Apple Arcade is the perfect home for Madden as a premium platform that matches the complete, no-compromise experience we’ve built.”
Apple is expanding its retro sports lineup as well. On August 6, players can also dive into Retro Bowl College+. Shortly after, on September 3, NFL Retro Bowl ’27 will debut a brand-new, high-stakes Gauntlet Mode.
Apple Arcade is available for $8.99 CAD per month, with a one-month free trial available for new subscribers.
