Xbox is bringing classic original Xbox games to Windows PCs and handheld devices through a new backward compatibility initiative launching today.
The early release program launches with four original Xbox titles: Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy. Each game is available to buy on PC and is included in all Xbox Game Pass tiers. Players who already own digital licenses for these titles on console will get access on PC at no extra cost through Xbox Play Anywhere.
Microsoft has upgraded the titles with PC specific graphic enhancements, including up to 4x resolution upscaling, anisotropic filtering, enhanced anti-aliasing, VSync, and customizable display modes. Language and audio settings are also adjustable. Xbox also revealed that Xbox Achievements will be added to original Xbox games later this year, with the initial four preview games getting support in the coming months.
To run the games, PCs require at least an Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processor, 8GB of RAM, Windows 11, and graphics equivalent to an Nvidia GTX 950, AMD Radeon RX 550, or Intel Arc A310.
