Rokid Launches AI-Powered Smart Glasses in Canada with ChatGPT, Gemini Support

Rokid has officially announced the Canadian launch of its AI-powered smart glasses, bringing a wearable that combines real-time translation, AI assistance, and hands-free photography into a lightweight pair of everyday glasses.

Unveiled in Toronto, the Rokid Glasses support prescription lenses and have been designed to look and feel more like traditional eyewear than bulky AR headsets. To support Canadian customers, Rokid has partnered with Markham-based Ming’s Optical to offer a range of prescription lens options, which may qualify for reimbursement depending on individual insurance plans.

“Canada is among the world’s most linguistically diverse countries,” said Zoro Shao, Rokid Group Vice President and Global General Manager, in a press release. “Rokid Glasses are designed to reduce language barriers with real-time AI translation, helping people better connect and understand one another.”

The glasses feature the world’s smallest Micro-LED projection engine, displaying information directly in the wearer’s field of view while keeping them engaged with their surroundings. Users can choose between AI assistants, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, while real-time translation supports 89 languages.

Rokid has also equipped the glasses with a 12-megapixel camera capable of hands-free photo and video capture, visual search, and image translation. Built-in directional speakers provide navigation prompts and AI responses without completely isolating users from their environment.

Alongside the hardware launch, Rokid is bringing its AI Agent Store to Canada, allowing developers to build and publish AI-powered experiences tailored for the glasses. The company says the platform has already attracted more than 3,000 AI workflow submissions globally.

The Rokid Glasses will launch in Canada on September 1 for $999, while the Rokid AI Glasses Style will retail for CA$549.

To mark the Canadian debut, Rokid is offering introductory pricing through August 31, reducing the Rokid Glasses to $899 and the AI Glasses Style to $499. The first 200 customers will also receive either a free Rokid Capsule battery or custom prescription lenses, each valued at $159. Both devices are available through Rokid’s official online store.
