TikTok Videos Are Coming Soon to the Disney+ App

The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have just announced a global short-form content deal. The partnership will bring selected fan-made TikTok videos directly into the Disney+ streaming app.

The collaboration will first start as a pilot program in the U.S. before expanding to Canada and other global markets. Through this deal, short-form videos made by participating TikTok creators will play inside a dedicated vertical feed on Disney+ called Verts. The videos will cover stories and characters from across Disney’s major brands, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and FX.

As part of the agreement, TikTok creators will receive access to official digital assets from hundreds of films and television shows in Disney’s library. Creators can use these media elements to produce fan videos that explore memorable scenes, characters, and storylines.

To support this effort, the two companies are launching the Disney Creator Ambassador Program. The tiered system provides participating creators with unique rewards, access to exclusive events, increased online exposure, and pathways for career development.

“The best storytellers are fans first,” said Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company. “That has always been true at Disney, and today, fans are celebrating our stories in entirely new ways. This collaboration creates a new bridge between the stories we tell and the creativity they inspire.”

Internal data from TikTok indicates that users posted an average of 6.5 million film and TV-related videos each day on the platform last year. Furthermore, research conducted by Ipsos and TikTok revealed that nearly half of surveyed viewers watched a movie or TV show on a television screen or streaming service after first discovering it on TikTok.

By embedding user-generated clips into Disney+, Disney aims to keep subscribers engaged inside its app while steering organic social media chatter back toward its full-length movies and series.
