Google pulled the covers off its entire fall hardware lineup today, which includes the Pixel 11 family and more. There’s a lot to unpack so let’s get started.
The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold were all revealed today, joined by the Pixel Watch 5, a refreshed set of Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Google’s first tracker, known as the Pixel Tag. The new details come ahead of the Made by Google event set for 3pm PT/6pm ET in New York City today.
Let’s start with the new entry Pixel 11, which now sees the camera bar as a full-width, all-glass strip, and Google says it slimmed it down by over 40 per cent compared to its predecessor. There’s a larger 48 MP main sensor with 56 per cent more light sensitivity, a 5x telephoto, and up to 30x Super Zoom handled by the new Tensor G6 chip.
You get 12 GB of RAM and Google has now doubled the starting storage to 256 GB, which is great to see. Battery life is rated at 30 hours, and wireless charging moves to 25W Qi2.2, which Google says is 25 per cent faster. Colours are Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio and Obsidian.
Security brings the new Titan M3 chip that Google says includes protections against future quantum threats. The company also points out it has taken top security ratings from Omdia five years running.
The new Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL get an edge-to-edge glass camera bar and a new anti-scratch display coating with more than double the scratch resistance. The Obsidian model now comes in an all-matte finish.
The cool new addition here is Highlight Light, a coloured LED ring around the flash. It lets you see notifications when your phone is face down, and also shows you when Gemini is working on something. It can be assigned custom colours for specific contacts too.
As for the camera specs, the Pro pair gets a 48 MP telephoto with a larger sensor and 30 per cent more light sensitivity, portrait mode at 5x, zoom stretching to 120x, and a 42 MP wide field of view front camera. Night Sight is 4.5 times faster this year says Google. The Super Actua display can go up to 3,600 nits, and while 256 GB with 12 GB of RAM is standard, the 512 GB and 1 TB versions bump you to 16 GB.
As for the Pixel 11 Pro XL it charges to 75 per cent in about 30 minutes over a cable. Both models are rated for 30 hours of battery.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the one that changed the most. It’s nearly 10 per cent lighter and almost a full millimetre thinner than last year’s model, with the thinnest bezels Google has put on a Fold it says.
Durability was clearly the focus as there’s a crack-resistant glass fibre composite back, a glass-ceramic cover for scratch and drop resistance, and a redesigned hinge that reduces inner display damage when you accidentally drop it. Google says the whole thing is three times more durable than the previous 10 Pro Fold. We’ll let the YouTube torture tests put this claim to life.
The outer Super Actua display is 20 per cent brighter, and the inner Flex display uses thicker ultra-thin glass and also reaches 3,600 nits. Inside is Google’s Tensor G6 chip with 16 GB of RAM, plus the same 48 MP main camera and 30x Super Zoom. Battery life in the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is rated at 24 hours or so.
Google says Live Transcribe now supports American Sign Language on the Fold, and Bubble Anything has been tuned for foldable multitasking.
The Tensor G6 chip is doing a lot of heavy lifting as Google says it delivers 50 per cent more TPU compute and higher memory bandwidth, and that with Gemini Nano it runs some tasks three times faster while using 2.5 times less energy.
The chip powers a new feature called Magic Capture, which records video, analyzes roughly 500 frames and pulls out up to five of the best HDR+ shots. You can hit the shutter mid-video, keep the original footage, and pick frames yourself if you don’t like Google’s choices. Light edits like crop, straighten and unblur only happen if you agree to them.
Another feature is Camera Looks, a set of customizable presets with rewritten colour LUTs meant to emulate film chemistry, and a Creator Suite with an on-screen teleprompter that auto-adjusts pace, an audio visualizer, social grid lines and a storyboard tool powered by Google Photos. Pro models add Video Boost up to 8K and Pro Stable Video that kicks in automatically when things get shaky.
Gemini itself is more proactive this year, surfacing flight status cards in chats, restaurant previews in Maps, quick calendar peeks and one-tap actions to book a reservation. Google says it’s all opt-in, running through Private AI Compute.
Switching from an iPhone should be easier too says Google. Quick Share now works with AirDrop, and migration carries over passwords, passkeys, eSIM and your call history.
The new Pixel Watch 5 runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated platform with a 12 per cent CPU boost and 50 per cent more RAM, adding up to what Google says is 20 per cent faster overall thanks to a dual-chip design. The 3,000-nit Ultra 360 display is still here, as does the repairable architecture. Battery is unchanged at 30 hours on the smaller size and 40 on the larger display.
Raise to Talk Gemini handles a lot of actions on-device with low latency, and works offline. New colours include Canyon Fog and Olive.
Google says GPS route tracking is now twice as accurate in tough environments, using Android location data, 3D building models and GNSS reference stations; Google claims it beats both the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Garmin Fenix 8 Pro. Sleep stage tracking is 15 per cent more accurate, and a new sleep breathing quality metric watches minute-by-minute SpO2 changes.
Breathing Emergency Detection uses on-device AI to spot persistent SpO2 drops and can call emergency services, launching first across many European countries. Monthly blood pressure and insulin resistance trend tracking is coming in September with first summaries in October, though Google is careful to frame both as wellness features. Google says they are not FDA-cleared and do not diagnose anything.
A Stephen Curry Edition arrives with an exclusive sweat-wicking performance lip band, and it looks to be US only again (like the Fitbit Air band).
Pixel Buds Pro 2 add an Olive colour and software that adjusts noise cancellation based on how the buds sit in your ear.
The Pixel Tag looks to be Google’s Apple AirTag moment for Android users. As for the tag itself, it’s a small polycarbonate and metal fob measuring 2.8 cm wide, 4.61 cm tall and 0.54 cm thick, weighing 11.8 grams with the battery in.
It comes in one colour (Fog) and is rated IP67, so it can handle a metre of water for up to 30 minutes, and it uses Bluetooth Channel Sounding plus Ultra Wideband for Precision Finding, which works up to 50 metres from your paired phone.
There’s a built-in speaker, an accelerometer inside, and a user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell that Google says lasts over a year. Pixel Tag works with Android phones running Android 9 or later, but Channel Sounding needs Android 16 and Bluetooth 6.0 or newer, and Precision Finding requires a phone with Ultra Wideband.
You will be able to locate your Pixel Tags using Pixel Buds (with Gemini) and your Pixel Watch.
In Canada, the Pixel 11 starts at $1,249 CAD, the Pixel 11 Pro at $1,499, the Pro XL at $1,799, and the Pro Fold at $2,499, all with 256 GB. Pro devices include six months of the Google AI Pro plan. Pre-orders open today.
Pixel Watch 5 pre-orders also start today, with the 41 mm Wi-Fi starting at $549.99 and the 45 mm Wi-Fi at $589.99, hitting shelves August 20.
The new Pixel Tag, which uses the Android Find Hub network, is $39.99 CAD for one or $129.99 for a four-pack (pricing matches Apple’s AirTag), but it does not go on sale until November 11, 2026.
