Apple TV Adds Free Popular Movies to Canadian Streaming Library

Apple TV subscribers in Canada have a nice surprise waiting in their streaming app today. Apple has expanded its catalogue by adding a selection of hit studio films available to stream at no extra cost.

The newly added titles appear in a fresh row titled “Great Movies Available Now on Apple TV” right inside the app. While non-original feature films on the platform usually require a rental or purchase fee, active subscribers can now press play directly without paying anything extra.

Canadian accounts can currently stream major hits including Jurassic Park, Ford v Ferrari, Rocketman, Little Miss Sunshine, Catch Me If You Can, and The Proposal, as per our screenshot above. Other Apple TV customers also are seeing freebies in the US and UK as well. These are some solid movies and hopefully the rotation will change over time. Again, the move keeps you watching content within Apple TV and not switching away to another app like Netflix or Disney+.

Apple periodically licenses third-party films to give subscribers extra value alongside its original series and movies. These licensed titles usually remain on the platform for a limited time, so anyone planning a weekend movie night will want to catch them before the rotation changes.
