macOS Tahoe 26.7 Leaks Upcoming iPhones, New Foldable Handset, and More
Apple has accidentally leaked references to its upcoming iPhone lineup, an all-new foldable handset, and new Mac hardware inside the latest macOS Tahoe 26.7 update (via MacRumors).
The release mentions several codenames linked to upcoming iPhone models. References point to the iPhone 18 Pro under codename V63, along with the iPhone 18 Pro Max designated as V64. Both of these premium handsets are anticipated to land at Apple’s annual September launch event.
Interestingly, the code also contains hints for the standard iPhone 18 (V67) and the second-generation iPhone Air (V62), both expected to debut in the spring of 2027. Most notably, code references were discovered for V68, which is tied to the long-rumoured foldable iPhone Ultra.
Beyond smartphones, Apple’s smart home setup is getting a major overhaul. Code inside macOS 26.7 highlights a dedicated home hub under codenames J490 and J491, representing both desktop-based and wall-mountable variants of the device. The system appears to run on “Pebble,” which is the internal codename for Apple’s new homeOS operating system.
Additional references include J595, a robotic tabletop display, and J229, a multi-sensor smart home security device capable of capturing photos and detecting environmental alarm sounds. There are also clear traces of an updated HomePod mini (B525) coming in four fresh colours: Rose Pink, Silver, Space Gray, and Starlight.
Mac hardware isn’t left behind in the code base. macOS 26.7 references J804, representing an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by an upcoming M6 processor. A series of additional identifier strings i.e. K114c, K114s, K116c, and K116s, likely correspond to higher-end MacBook Pro configurations equipped with OLED displays. Updated iMac models under codenames J833 and J834 were spotted as well.
Rounding out the software leaks are references to next-gen iPad mini models (J510 and J511) featuring OLED panels and an A19 Pro chip, an updated Apple TV Remote (ATVRemote1,5), and headset code for N109, which points toward an updated Vision Pro model.
