We finally have confirmation when you’ll be able to download iOS 27, without dealing with beta versions.
Apple said on Wednesday it will release iOS 27 on Monday, September 14, as a free software update. The company announced the date alongside its new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the super pricey iPhone Duo.
The update introduces Siri AI, a new version of Apple’s assistant that can use information from messages, emails and photos to help with everyday tasks. It can also respond to content on the screen.
Siri AI will launch in beta on supported devices in English. French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish support will follow in October. It will not initially be available in the European Union. No support for Canadian French at launch yet.
Other additions include new photo editing tools, more parental controls and more ways to customize the Liquid Glass design. A Safari feature called Notify Me will let users track changes to web pages, such as price drops or product restocks (it’s sort of worked in beta for us).
Some features will depend on the device, language and region. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will go on sale September 18, with preorders opening this Saturday, September 12 (instead of Friday since it’s the 10th anniversary of 9/11).
