DoorDash Canada Lands Exclusive Multi-Year NHL Partnership

DoorDash and the National Hockey League (NHL) have announced a multi-year partnership, naming the delivery platform the official on-demand delivery and pick-up partner of the NHL across Canada as well as the United States.

The deal kicks off right away and marks the first time DoorDash has officially partnered with the league. For tech and sports observers, it represents a massive move to dominate live sports engagement, matching delivery services directly with live fan habits.

The rollout begins in Canada on September 29, 2026, featuring a special DoorDash Puck Drop promotion to celebrate opening day. Throughout the regular season, fans can expect regular discount offers every Wednesday and Saturday evening.

DoorDash is also becoming the presenting sponsor for all Wednesday night national regular-season games and Stanley Cup Playoff games streamed on Prime Video in Canada. On top of digital perks, the delivery company plans to set up physical activations at major calendar events, including the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic in Winnipeg on October 25, 2026.

The partnership goes beyond simple TV commercials. DoorDash plans to use the league’s high-tech advertising tools to stay visible throughout broadcasts.

Under the agreement, DoorDash gets extensive access to official NHL logos and trademarks. Fans watching nationally televised games will see the brand integrated into the rink through Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards.

DoorDash will also have a major presence during signature events, including the Discover NHL Winter Classic, the Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series, and the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
