Apple’s Reported LG Smart Home Accessories Leak in First Images

The first images of three LG smart home accessories that Apple reportedly helped develop, including a smart deadbolt lock, thermostat and temperature sensor, surfaced today from leaker pdfu.
The leak follows a Bloomberg report from Mark Gurman yesterday, which said Apple and LG co-developed seven accessories to work with Apple’s upcoming smart home hub, along with a new HomePod mini and refreshed Apple TV. The lineup also includes a video doorbell and three security cameras.
Gurman described the broader push as a reboot of HomeKit, the framework behind Apple’s Home app. The accessories will carry LG branding, with LG handling manufacturing and support. That gives Apple a way to quickly expand its smart home lineup without having to manufacture and service every lock, thermostat and camera itself.

Many of the devices reportedly support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread and Matter. Matter is the cross-platform smart home standard already supported by Apple’s Home app, meaning the accessories shouldn’t necessarily be limited to Apple devices.
The leaker did not say where the renders or settings details came from, and nothing in the thread or replies points to a specific source. However, the designs appear to match FCC filings for the three devices found by MacRumors, including 3D renderings, model numbers and wireless details. According to Bloomberg, LG had asked regulators to keep photos and more precise product details confidential until early next year.
There is still no pricing, launch date or confirmed Canadian availability for any of the LG accessories. Our earlier reporting, based on Gurman’s sources, pointed to October 13, 2026 for Apple’s new home hub, HomePod mini and Apple TV, likely through press releases rather than a live event.
The LG accessories are reportedly running behind Apple’s own hardware and aren’t expected to reach consumers for at least several months, so October 13 would likely amount to a preview at best for these products.
The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock gets the most attention in the leak. It has a round keypad that rotates to open, along with an included swivel pin that can limit rotation on one side so the lock doesn’t hit a nearby wall. A 360-degree video shows a two-tone design, with the top section swivelling aside to reveal a physical keyhole.
- Automatic unlocking, tap to unlock, emergency power and master codes
- Settings for Touchpad Light Ring, Door Left Audio Alarm and Lock Sound Volume
- Fits 2.375-inch (60.3 mm) and 2.75-inch (69.9 mm) backsets, the two standard deadbolt sizes in North America
- Comes with two mechanical keys
According to the FCC filings, the lock supports Bluetooth, Thread, NFC and ultra wideband. It verifies a phone’s credentials over Bluetooth before using ultra wideband to confirm the phone’s position and unlock the door.
The LG Smart Thermostat uses a round puck design with a large temperature readout, shown at 72°F, or about 22°C, in the renders. Its settings include Far Sight Display, Humidity Display, Brightness and Language, along with a calibration option for adjusting the reading if the thermostat runs warm or cold.
The LG Temperature Sensor is a small white puck that monitors temperature and humidity. Its magnetic back lets it attach directly to metal, while an included adhesive metal plate can be used on other surfaces. The replaceable battery also triggers an alert when it’s time for a new one.
Smart home stocks took a hit following the reports, with Gurman noting today that Resideo fell 7.4%, Arlo Technologies dropped 8.7% and Allegion declined 5.6% in morning trading. Those companies are behind Honeywell Home thermostats, Arlo cameras and Schlage locks, including the Schlage Encode Plus we tested.
For anyone already using a HomePod mini or Apple TV as a home hub, the smart lock may be the one to watch. It’s the product most likely to replace something already installed on your door, and Canadian pricing will go a long way toward determining how it stacks up against options from Schlage and Level.
