Anker’s New SOLIX S5000 Promises 86 Hours of Fridge Backup During a Blackout

Anker has announced the SOLIX S5000, a new portable power station designed to keep essential household appliances running during extended outages, including the winter storms and freezing rain Canadians face each year.
The S5000 packs a 5,024Wh battery with 4,500W of continuous output and up to 8,000W peak power. It supports both 120V and 240V appliances, including compatible furnaces, well pumps and water heaters.
Anker claims the S5000 can run a refrigerator for up to 86 hours, or power a fridge, Wi-Fi router, coffee maker, lights and phone together for 48 hours. These figures come from Anker’s own testing.
The company credits its OptiSave 2.0 technology, which delivers up to 96% efficiency under a 1,000W load. It also reduces idle power consumption, helping stretch battery life during longer outages.
We previously tested Anker’s F3000 during an 8.5-hour neighbourhood blackout, when it kept our household refrigerator running easily.
At approximately 97 pounds (44 kg), the S5000 has wheels and a telescoping handle, which is super helpful for transporting it around. Anker calls it the smallest and lightest power station in its 5kWh class. Capacity can expand to 30kWh using additional batteries.
It also offers a 10-millisecond UPS switchover and can recharge fully in as little as 99 minutes using a 240V source, while it comes with a five-year warranty.
Anker hasn’t announced Canadian pricing or availability, but we’ll keep you updated once we find out. The S5000 goes on sale in the US on October 27, 2026, for $2,499.99 USD (about $3,568 CAD), down from its $3,599.99 MSRP.
