Apple TV Now Lets You Use Snoopy as Your Profile Picture in tvOS 27.2

Apple is adding cartoon characters from its own shows as profile pictures for local Apple TV profiles in iOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2, and the option is already working in the release candidates Apple sent to developers on Monday. You can now pick characters from The Snoopy Show, Frog and Toad and Stillwater instead of an emoji.
That’s according to pdfu on X, the code sleuth who has been digging up unreleased features in Apple’s betas all fall. A short video shared on Wednesday shows a new “Choose an Image” screen with the line “Choose a character from Apple TV or an emoji.” The Snoopy row includes Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Franklin and Sally. Frog, Toad and their woodland friends get their own row, while Stillwater brings the giant panda and the show’s kids. Emoji sit at the bottom of the list, as before.
pdfu first spotted the “Choose a character” text in code on October 5, but at the time Apple’s servers were still only handing out emoji. With the RC, the characters are now showing up for real. “Hopefully we’ll see more shows included soon,” pdfu wrote, and with only three series in the picker so far, there’s plenty of room for Apple to grow it.
Snoopy fans in Canada have a local connection here. The Snoopy Show is produced by Toronto-based WildBrain, which also owns 41 per cent of the Peanuts brand and helped turn Apple TV into the home of Charlie Brown and the gang back in 2020.
Profile pictures are a small touch, but they make it easier for kids to find their own profile on a shared family Apple TV. The same release brings bigger changes too, including home theatre setup for four-HomePod surround sound, which pairs with the new Apple TV 4K that sells for $429 in Canada.
Developers can grab the iOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2 release candidates now. Apple hasn’t announced a public release date, but final builds usually follow an RC within a week or two.
Which Apple TV character would you pick for your profile?
