Globally, the three countries contributing to the conversation of gaming the most included Japan, the US, and South Korea.
Although the pandemic has affected many of the games industry conferences, digital events were created to showcase upcoming titles. Of those, the most discussed conferences included Sony’s ‘The Future of Gaming on PS5’, Niconico Net Chokaigi 2020, and Microsoft’s ‘Xbox Games Showcase’, Pax East 2020, and Ubisoft Forward 2020. Spider-Man: Miles Morales was the most tweeted about game during Sony’s PS5 conference. Halo Infinite lead the conversation during the Xbox Games Showcase and Far Cry 6 during Ubisoft Forward.
Twitter doesn’t expect the conversations to slow down for the remainder of the year. As many continue to stay indoors and safe for the remaining months of 2020, gaming provides an entertaining and enthralling experience with more to come. Gamescom 2020 is mere weeks away, likely driving more conversations. Plus, the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later this year will likely get the world talking about the gaming industry.
