The Wait’s Over: All-New Yahoo! Mail iPhone App Released
After taking over as Yahoo CEO in September, Marissa Mayer offered employees free smartphones such as the iPhone 5 and more.
Today on the company blog she is further making her mark by personally announcing the release of all-new Yahoo! Mail apps, which includes a version for iPhone users. The new apps are part of Yahoo’s plan to have a streamlined and consistent experience across all platforms:
You’ve told us loud and clear that you want fewer distractions when it comes to email. You want to quickly login, communicate, and get on with your day. And we’ve listened. Starting today, the new Yahoo! Mail is fast, easy and available anywhere you go. These improvements will be available on all major platforms: Web, Windows 8, iPhone/iPod touch and Android.

We’ve also made your inbox more intuitive and easier to navigate, allowing you to focus on what matters most: your messages. And, because mobile is everything these days, Yahoo! Mail now has a consistent look and feel across devices.

YOU’VE GOT MAIL
Came here to say exactly the same..glad not the only one who wonders why people would still use Yahoo mail. Seriously, if you know someone who uses it – ask them why and report back. please!
There was a wait? Love those sarcastic headlines 🙂
Come on…I’m sure at least 5 people are excited about this. 😛
Marrisa is smoking hot btw…
Only for iOS 6!
How about for iOS 5.1.1 devices ?
Looks like you’ll need to update to iOS 6.
Still waiting for Jailbreak of iOS 6.
If this was 2002 and I still used Yahoo Mail, I’d be really excited. Unfortunately for Yahoo, most of the world has their lives synced with Apple/Google/Microsoft and has no reason to switch.
+1
It works well, however, it does not support multiple accounts yet:-(
I tried with my yahoo account. This app is good. Better than most mail apps. But far inferior to the native iOS mail. I fail to see the need for this yahoo mail client. The native app benefits from iOS push notification, which are near instant. It allows the user to see and access his custom folders and do almost everything he can from a PC browser. And for those who wonder why Yahoo mail, it’s got security unlike Hotmail. And when you use the iOS native mail client, it looks and acts exactly like gmail.
