New EarPods For iPhone, iPod & iPad Now Available On Apple Store For $35
Apple has unveiled EarPods today, the company’s new re-engineered headphones with remote and mic for iPhones and iPods, a hands-on video of which was leaked just over a week ago. Apple has decided to include them with the new iPod touch, the new iPod nano and with the iPhone 5, as well as a standalone accessory that is now listed for sale on the online Apple Store.
According to Apple’s stats, over 600 million sets of earbuds have been shipped. That’s over 1.2 billion “little speakers”. Apple says that doing a great headphone is hard, because ears are really, really challenging and because everyone’s ears are different. That’s where the EarPods come in, with a shape that is actually defined by the geometry of an ear, without creating a seal the way other in-ear headphones do.
“The Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic are designed to rest comfortably inside — and stay inside — a variety of ear types. The audio quality is so superior, they rival high-end headphones that cost hundreds of dollars more. And you can use the improved remote to adjust volume, control music and video playback, and answer or end calls on your iPhone”.
Highlights:
- Designed by Apple
- Deeper, richer bass tones
- Greater protection from sweat and water
- Control music and video playback
- Answer and end calls
What’s in the Box:
- Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic
- Storage and travel case
You can grab a pair right now for $35 at the online Apple Store.

The audio quality is so superior, they rival high-end headphones that cost hundreds of dollars more. Not likely!!
Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing.
I’m really curious to try a pair of these out. In theory they sound good, but I’ve heard Apple make claims about audio quality many times before that haven’t lived up to their hype.
I doubt any earphones that come with a phone or a portable gaming machine can do an excellent job, afterall they are “free”, besides if they are that good, Apple can’t sell the “better” earphones in store.
I’d be curious if these new earbuds will fit in my ear. I’ve always had problems with the old earbuds from Apple… or any buds with a hard shell. I’ve found the soft-shell ones much better (Skull-Candy and those type rock) but I’d be willing to see if they work.
Why it is $29 in the US although we have better currency. Haha
Canada FTW!
$50 more for unlocked iPhone, $5 more for earpods… why Apple, why?
LOL
