Leaker Expects Apple to Transition to ‘Thinner, and Exquisite’ Boxes for New iPhones

Notable Apple leaker has said to expect the company to release its new iPhone in a ‘thinner and exquisite’ box. This information has gone hand in hand with recent reports that the iPhone 12 lineup will ship without earbuds and charger, allowing Apple to cut down on packaging size.

Apple leaker who goes by the Twitter handle @L0vetodream published a tweet regarding Apple’s transition to new packaging. Reported by MacRumors, @L0vetodream expects new iPhone 12s to not include the charger and earbuds in the box. With that in mind, @L0vetodream has said the new packaging will become “thinner, and exquisite”.

The removal of earbuds and charger will certainly free up some real estate inside the box of the unannounced iPhone 12 lineup. While iPhone boxes don’t currently have a ton of wasted space, removing two accessory pieces does give the company some wiggle room to refine the packaging design.

In the past, @L0vetodream has built credibility by tweeting out various “dreams”, often leaking information regarding Apple announcements. This time around, the user is working off the basis of last week’s reports, which saw Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claim that Apple will be dropping the charger and earbuds from the iPhone box.

As of now, it appears as though Apple will release a new 20 W power adapter as an optional standalone accessory for the new devices. In addition, Apple may remove the earbuds as a way to incentivize users to invest in AirPods as a way to drive a more wireless experience.
