Virgin Mobile Offers Unlimited Canada-Wide Plan, 6GB Data for $50 to Thunder Bay

Virgin Mobile has offered a pretty hot voice and data plan that includes 6GB of data–but it’s only available in Thunder Bay. According to MobileSyrup, the smartphone plan includes the following:

  • Unlimited Canada-wide calling
  • Unlimited SMS/MMS to Canada/USA/International
  • Voicemail, Caller ID
  • 6GB of data ($10/GB overages)
  • $50/month

Bell is already offering customers in Thunder Bay on Tbaytel a free iPhone 5 if they switch over to their network. Looks like this angle via Virgin Mobile is heating up the competition there. Let us know if you’re going to jump on this, Thunder Bay.

I feel like I should tell ya Thunder Bay is in Ontario, but yeah you’re absolutely right. I have no idea why they bring out the only competitively priced plans in Canada in one small city at a time!

I would jump on this for the unlimited canada wide talk. It’s $7 more then I pay with Rogers but don’t get unlimited canada wide talk, just 6GB.

First plan I would give up my $45 Rogers retention plan for. I have the same amount of data but way less talk time and no international texting. Oh well I’m still happy and I need to be for the next 3 years.

I don’t understand how they can get away with offering this to just one part of their customer base?

is this plan available for iphone 5?

People in the boonies get good plans…because they’re in the boonies. First, not a lot of people which equals not much traffic. Second, few at any time will venture beyond the TBay area and use the phone. Third, it represents practically nothing versus the big City “traffic” in Van, Cal, Tor, Mtl.

Is it possible to sign up for this and then change address and number to a 416 number??? Hmmmm.

you need a Thunder Bay postal code. If you change the postal code , you lose the plan.

Source : have bell in Thunder Bay on this exact plan and love the unlimited minutes and texting. 6gb of data is nice to.

for allll the ppl who don’t know. Its because up until this year Tbaytel had a monopoly in Thunder Bay on cell phone service. The new competition is trying to build the customer base quickly. Its great for us that travel around canada.
