Earlier this month, we told you Fido was offering a $50/15GB ‘winback’ offer to former customers, in efforts to lure them back to the company.
Following up on this ‘winback’ offer, it’s still being handed out to some ex-customers, but now some on this $50/15GB plan have received a ‘gift’ from Rogers, in the form of $10/month credits for six months. Here’s what the text message reads, sent out on November 28, according to one RFD user:
Hi, it’s Fido: Great news! We added a $10 discount off your monthly service fee for 6 months. This is an exclusive offer just for you to thank you for being a Fido customer. You don’t have to do anything. This discount will start on your next bill. Questions? Visit www.fido.ca/contactus for a list of ways you can reach us.
This discount effectively takes the ‘winback’ plan down to $40/15GB, which is a decent plan, even if only for six months. The freebie most likely ensures customers won’t jump ship to a competitor during Black Friday and upcoming Boxing Day offers.
One iPhone in Canada reader told us Fido is still offering this $50/15GB ‘winback’ plan. Offers include the $50/15GB ‘winback’ plan with an iPhone XR but at $65/15GB or an iPhone 11 for $95/15GB, on a two-year term.
