Yesterday we saw Rogers send out text messages to customers, gifting them 5GB of free monthly data for 24 months.
Now, it appears Fido customers are also set to benefit from this promo, which is “an exclusive offer just for you to thank you for being a Fido customer.”
According to iPhone in Canada reader, Vaughn, Fido sent out the message today, which reads exactly like the Rogers promo, offering a “5GB monthly data bonus to your current plan for the next two years.”
The text message appears to be targeting those who were on the company’s $60/10GB plan from a couple of years ago, which has seen a price increase since. Vaughn’s plan with Fido now is now at $75 per month with 29GB of data, after various accumulated data bonuses.
If you didn’t receive a text message from Rogers or Fido, log in to your online account and check your plan anyways. Some readers noted they still saw 5GB added to their account, despite not getting a message.
