New wireless promotions are out from Rogers’ Fido, Telus’ Koodo and Bell’s Virgin Plus, in the form of $58/15GB and $52/8GB plans, remarkably showing at the same time from all three companies.
All three websites of these flanker brands of the ‘Big 3’ are showing the same bring your own phone plan promo.
The $58 plan includes 5GB of bonus data to make 15GB, as it normally is priced at $58/10GB. The plan includes unlimited Canada-wide minutes and international SMS/MMS, just like the $52/8GB plan.
When it comes to wireless overages, however, Koodo charges $130 for 1GB, while Virgin Plus is at $137 for 1GB in data overages, with both carriers requiring consent from customers to accept paying for overages.
Fido’s data overages curiously remain at $15 for 1GB, a price set in 2019. This only kicks in after Fido’s Data Overage Protection feature notifies at thresholds of 90% and 100%, at which data is paused.
