Currently, Fido, Virgin Mobile and Koodo are all offering a $50/9GB BYOD plan, but if you’re in Markham, Ontario, you can get this plan for $10 cheaper at $40 per month, plus 1,000 international minutes.
According to RFD, the Fido kiosk inside First Markham Place is currently advertising a $40/9GB plan with unlimited nationwide talk and text, plus 1,000 international minutes to Australia, Bangladesh, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico and the UK.
It’s unclear if this offer is a permanent $40 per month, or if it’s only the $50 plan with 12 months of $10 off credits. We tried reaching out to the kiosk but there was no answer as of writing.
The extra International minutes tacked onto this plan, plus a $10 discount may be targeting new customers in the Markham area, based on the signage used inside the mall. It does not appear to be available out west from what we’ve read. You may try asking for this deal at your local Fido store or calling Fido, as other locations may be able to offer this as well.
