Rogers has announced a new service called Rogers Pro On-the-Go, in what it calls “a new personalized retail service that makes buying a device more convenient and easy.”
When customers order a cellphone online, a Rogers “connected solutions pro” will meet at a time and location set by the customer, “within hours of ordering,” to help with personalized setup of the device, such as transferring over apps, detailing features and also offer accessories like cases, headsets and more.
Rogers is partnering with U.S. company Enjoy, founded by former Apple retail chief, Ron Johnson, bringing the service exclusively to Canada for the first time.
The new personalized service, offered at no cost, will first launch for phones, available to Rogers customers in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
“We know how valuable our customers’ time is and getting to a store is not always convenient or easy,” says Brent Johnston, President of Wireless at Rogers, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada. “This is about making it easier for customers to get the connected device they want in a way that’s convenient and personalized for them. We were the first national carrier to introduce unlimited data plans and now we’re innovating on our service experience.”
Enjoy currently works with AT&T, Google and Sonos in the U.S., and British Telecom in the United Kingdom. In Canada, Rogers is the exclusive carrier offering the service.
“We are so excited to partner with Rogers, and to bring this proven formula to Canadians,” says Ron Johnson, CEO of Enjoy, in a statement to iPhone in Canada. “We provide top-notch personalized experience right in the customer’s home or office. Our Experts deliver the best experiences and are impeccably trained, kind people.”
Rogers says the new Pro On-the-Go service will hit GTA neighbourhoods in “late October” and expand to other major cities in 2020, along with support for connected home services.
