First we saw Bell offer a $45/25GB ‘winback’ plan, and now we’re seeing the same deal being offered by Rogers, but for customers in B.C. and Alberta.
Wireless carriers usually offer special plans to win back old customers, and the latest is a $45/25GB plan out west, which apparently is in response to Shaw Mobile.
According to RFD, one user noted the Rogers winback team offered the usual $50/15GB plan, but once they mentioned Shaw Mobile, a $45/25GB plan was offered, along with 10% off for two years, plus a $300 hardware credit. You can see a screenshot of the offer above.
“Originally was offered $50 for 15GB, but then mentioned I was with Shaw mobile and was wondering if Rogers had anything competitive — they came back with the $45 25GB plan (note: I actually am with Koodo now),” said user RFD user ‘sgdnfan.’
“The added bonus I got was 10% off for two years — bringing it down to $40.50 pre taxes. Got the $300 hardware credit too,” said the user. Others were also offered a free tablet with free data plan on contract as well.
Numerous other users also shared being offered the $45/25GB plan when mentioning they were with Shaw Mobile, which currently has an introductory $45/25GB unlimited data plan, for its service only available in B.C. and Alberta.
