Petro-Canada has built a coast-to-coast network of electric vehicle (EV) chargers at select gas stations, as it sets the stage for a post-oil future. Petro-Canada says “we have a charger every 250 km or less from Halifax, N.S. to Victoria, B.C.”
Now, there’s a new offer from RBC Rewards that is offering up one year’s worth of free EV charging at Petro-Canada locations, for select RBC credit cards, reports Tesla North.

“Exclusive offer for linked clients. Opt-in and receive a full refund on all of your electric vehicle charging at Petro-Canada EV locations. Simply opt-in and pay using your eligible linked RBC Card until April 30, 2022, and you’ll receive your refund via statement credit. Come experience Canada’s Electric Highway,” reads the offer from the RBC Rewards app.
So if you have an eligible RBC credit card, just link it to your Petro-Canada points card inside the RBC app, then you’ll get free EV charging for one year.
Petro-Canada says its EV charging stations are open 24/7 and are on time-based charging, supporting universal standard connectors CCS and CHAdeMO.
For Tesla owners with a CHAdeMO adapter, you’ll be able to charge free for a year, just like other EV owners as well. This offer may be helpful for those living in condos or townhouses that do not have dedicated chargers available.
