Early today we noted Canadian iPhone 4S orders from Apple had started ‘Preparing for Shipment’. It now appears the previous method of obtaining your tracking number from UPS directly is now possible. I just entered in my details and my order’s last location was in Shenzhen, China, just like iPhoneinCanada.ca reader Ken’s shipment below:
Get your UPS tracking now, as Apple doesn’t provide it. This is the same method we told you about back in 2008 for tracking iPhone 3G shipments. Here’s a refresher on how to do it:
1. Visit www.ups.com
2. Click on the TRACKING tab up top
3. Click on ‘TRACK BY REFERENCE’ and under SHIPMENT REFERENCE enter your phone number in 1112223333 format. Select ‘Canada’ as the Destination Country, and enter your postal code in A1A 1A1 format
4. Click TRACK–boom.
Your tracking number and details should show up. Packages are being shipped by UPS Worldwide Express, which ‘guarantees’ next business day delivery. That means, the iPhone 4S could be in your hands this Friday, if the stars are aligned properly.

You’re saying this works with Rogers per-orders? They are shipping to stores, so not sure what phone number and postal code to use.
It worked when Rogers was shipping iPhone 3G units via UPS to our doors, as upgrades.
I guess it doesn’t work with Telus.

don’t get your hopes up. UPS shipments that are WORLD EASE are ” Simplify customs clearance by grouping several shipments destined for one country” so they need to go somewhere in Canada and to get split up, that takes time.

Going to Upper Canada Mall tomorrow. Anyone knows when Apple store opens and what about the mall – when will they let people in and don’t have to stay outside too long. Forecast says it rains.
Not so fast … The “Oct 19” date in the Apple mail doesn’t mean anything.
In my case, the initial ETA on the UPS tracking site listed Oct 17 but right now it doesn’t list any date and based on the ETAs shown for others I’m hopeful that it might still arrive tomorrow.
Mine still says “>>>UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again.” I pre-ordered from Apple website on Oct. 7th at around 11:30am EST. I wish I didn’t have to wait! My status hasn’t changed on the Apple site either (still “Processing Items”). Bummer!

They say Shipments will go out on the 14th, so Id expect 19th roughly but anyway to track?
My order still shows “Processing Items,” and this method yields the error message “UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again.” at the UPS site. (I ordered at 4AM right after the ordering went live, black 64GB.)
You need to use the phone number you put on the order to track using reference number.
Did that. Even checked to see whether I’d actually used my home number instead of my cell–but nothing. My order still says “Processing Items” and shipping time still reads “Ships: 1 – 2 Weeks”, though, so I suspect that in my case, it’s really not shipping right now.

If it says Ships in 1-2 weeks it sounds like you missed the first wave of iPhones 🙁 I believe all orders that were shipped first were listed as Ships by Oct 14th.

I think all orders have to go somewhere in the USA before reaching Canada… Possibly Anchorage, Alaska and after that also Louisville, Kentucky… This was the case for the last iPhone for me… I’m in Montreal…
If they do this again, you won’t get your iPhone tomorrow… It will be somewhere next week (between Monday and Wednesday).
i ordered 6am EST last friday, my email from Apple says Oct 19, but UPS shows it is in Hong Kong right now, and will arrive before noon on Mon Oct 17.

I’m in Toronto. It’s not there now (on UPS) – i SWEAR it said arrival date. It was 6am when I looked at it though and I had no tea in me at that point.
I suppose that because it’s shipping via world ease, they removed the date because it’s going through additionals steps and they can not really tell if it will take more time…
Has anyone received confirmed shipping details from Rogers yet? My status currently reads “in progress” and states “shipping progress has begun”. I was originally 59 on the list, then dropped to 17 on the list on Monday.

First thing: dude remove Steve’s picture from your profile. And second World Ease decreases processing time. It groups large shipments together so it’ll clear customs faster.
What’s the problem with Steve’s picture? It’s the same picture that is shown on Apple’s website…
Will see if it’s really faster… last time with the iPhone 4, it wasn’t really fast… it went through a lot of steps in the USA to finally be delivered to me in Montreal… All that even if I paid an additional fee to get faster shipping…
UPS states “1-3 Business Days” on their web site as the delivery standard for “UPS Worldwide Express”, so that could be anytime between Friday and Tuesday. (You can google “UPS Canada International Shipping Services ” to get to that page.)
Where do you get the “next day by AM” figure, if I may ask?

Just called UPS and he told me that although its in transit, coming towards the States, we wont get our phone till Tuesday. Did anyone call Apple to see if they can speed the delivery up?
Has anyone received anything regarding their shipment from Telus? A tracking number would be nice.
I posted this on the macrumors site the other night but to no avail. At least I have one fellow Telus inquirer here. In any case after speaking with Telus and their Client Care rep last night I found out that customers aren’t going to be able to track their iPhone 4S orders via UPS or FedEx like how everyone else is because they’re currently being shipped from within Canada from a distribution centre not from China. Telus’ batch of 100,000 iPhone 4S pre orders are all being shipped form within the country and have already started to make their way out to people seeing as how the confirmation email you should’ve receive stated shipment of the iPhone 4S pre-orders would be going out on October 13th. With that being said the rep also mentioned that these orders are based on location not sequential order. So that means the further away you live from the distribution centre the longer you’ll have to wait. However the rep did say that people who pre-orderered can expect their iPhone 4S between tomorrow October 14th – October 18th. If the phone still hasn’t been received contact Telus immediately.
I just called into Telus to see if mine had shipped and I didn’t receive an email by chaance and it has not yet shipped. But she did say that all the people who pre-ordered through telus should see their phone go out today since they did a “while quantities last” unlike other companies where people will have to wait for a second or third shipment. So all pre-orders should go out today. And she did say as well that it should be delivered tomorrow or Monday. Let’s hope I got someone who knows what she is talking about!!

have been tracking ALL UPS flights in the air… there was only ONE from Hong Kong over the last several hours and it was going to Anchorage. It landed about 15 minutes ago.
(I tried posting the URL, but post got blocked).
Since I am 99% sure that all our orders where on the same flight, i can now track all flights out of Anchorage… (current flights out of anchorage are going to china, so should be easy to see when a flight to US/Canada show up)

anyways.. ya… it was easy to pinpoint out flight from Hong Kong cause there was only 1 with UPS, but figuring out the next round may he harder. If it can get to another US sorting facility by end of day today, I’m sure it can make it to montreal from there over night… right?

All orders, ALL of them land in Louisville to clear US customs then go to Ontario to clea Canadian customs. I called UPS mine left china 6 hours ago and still didn’t land. She told me I would get it by Tuesday.
