Latest Samsung TV Ad Mocks New Features of the iPhone 5 [VIDEO]

Looks like Samsung is at it again, targeting Apple users again in their continuing series of ads focusing on the line ups outside Apple Stores. The latest ad touts the features of the Samsung Galaxy S III and downplays the new features of the iPhone 5, such as the bottom headphone jack, the Lightning connector, and the larger screen.

Some funny quotes include where people in the line up say “this phone’s going to be like a precious jewel!” and others. I won’t spoil it for you, check it out below:

Youtube video

The ad was uploaded to the Samsung USA YouTube channel, and once again shows how insecure the company is as they try to win over iPhone users. Earlier this week, Samsung released a deceiving print ad touting its Galaxy S III features over the iPhone 5.

What do you think? Clever ad or just desperation on Samsung’s part?

It’s kind of funny there biggest selling point is wirelessly transferring playlist ….

Yeah, that’s what I thought was the coolest feature they showed as well… but what’s the point of wireless if you have to touch the phones together?

“Hey, I just made this new playlist, you should stop by my place later so I can share it with your phone.”

Can you say desperate?

Hey… if it didn’t look like a cheap, plastic, non-functioning store demo version, if Android didn’t look horrible, and if I didn’t have money invested in iOS apps, I’d consider it.

This is really quite tasteless…if anything it deters me further away from getting a Samsung phone. It also tells me something about the character/types of people running such company…

Yeah … At least the “Get A Mac” ads were tasteful and funny!

It doesn’t simply mock the features, it explicitly mocks everyone who buys an Apple product. There’s no humour, no roasting, it’s just insulting.

LOL. Yes, that ‘touching’ of the phones was a little awkward.

Totally agree. That’s what email or iMessage is for. Guess what? I can send a video to someone somewhere else!!! They don’t have to come over so that we can awkwardly touch our phones together!

That being said, there are a few features Apple’s touting for iOS 6 that are equally as useless. Flyover is fun to play with and show off to people, but I can’t think of any instances where it’s practically useful.

Very clever ad.
However, I doubt it will have any impact of current iPhone owner. It may have an impact on people buying a smartphone for the first time

Bigger screen doesn’t necessarily mean a better smartphone! I’ve seen my friend’s Galaxy S3, and it’s impossible to operate with 1 hand because it’s so big for no reason. For me a 4″ phone is perfect.

i have a friend with the GS and im not really a fan, yeah the screen is bigger, but the thing is huge and kinda ugly, i dont even enjoy having a bumper s on my phone as it adds to the size. as well the buttons… iphone has 1 on the from and that works great. i think that iOS help sell them, its easy to use.

You can’t really called.it desperate when the GS3 phone can actually compete with iphone. I could understand if blackberry did an ad like this then that would be desperate

There’s already rumors for the SGIV. That is why I will never buy an Android; they’re outdated the week after you buy it.
I have an iPhone 4 now that I got on Canadian release day (upgrading to iPhone 5) and that lasted me 3 years. If you have a Samsung for 3 years there’s going to be like 5 or 6 new Samsungs within that time and 10+ Androids.

I had gathered with my friends we all have iPhone 4S. We tried to transfer a simple picture to each other, keep trying with 3-5 different apps included bumps without success. And dont even think about exchanging videos. The end of the night we’d concluded iPhone is the best subject to no other phone exist in the world!!!

I loved it!
and before you rant, yes I have an iphone
this is just a commercial.
the iPhone is just a phone and has its flaws, even the new one.
relax, competition is good
unlike some other somewhat senstive types, I guess I have a still sense of humour 🙂
as I recently overheard (source unknown) “50% of the internet is debating the latest iPhone … the other 50% wishes they would shut up.”

“How insecure the company is …”
( slanted reporting. – by an apple fan no doubt)

I got my wife an iphone 4 for her birthday as its release date co-insided nicely. I went to 3 different Fido stores every day until i got one. It took 3 months.

It took 15mins at Bestbuy or futureshop on release day. No line up.
