MTS, SaskTel and Koodo Say the iPhone 5 is “Coming Soon”

MTS and SaskTel have noted on their websites the iPhone 5 is ‘coming soon’, and so has Koodo. Check out the images below…

MTS:

SaskTel:

Koodo:

Last year, SaskTel and MTS also jumped into the iPhone 4S game, albeit a two week delay. If we stick to this same delay for the iPhone 5, we could see the new phone launch from these two carriers on October 5th.

Thanks @AndreTen!

Can anyone recommend a stellar plan buy Koodo? I plan on leaving Fido (no longer on contract with them) I was planning on going with Wind mobile (yea I know I can’t get an iPhone 5 if I do that) but Fido wasn’t willing to even attempt to touch Wind mobile’s $40.00 plan (unlimited text, unlimited Canada wide voice & unlimited data). Unfortunately after reading some reviews of Wind’s service/customer’s experiences I’m not so sure I want to take my business to them. So maybe Koodo is another option as they do sell the iPhone. Thanks for any helpful advice.

Whatever you do don’t go with Koodo.. They’re WORSE than Fido.. Come to think of it fido wasn’t actually that bad for me it was just that i didn’t have reception and had to swith.. anyway yeah i was with Koodo after fido for about 3 months and got charged hidden charges up the noose. Virgin may be a better option. Good luck

pure_4, sounds like just your experience, I’ve personally had an awesome experience with Koodo! I actually switched over from Virgin (where I was overbilled month after month…I called them close to a dozen times and it was very annoying). I’m super happy with the Koodo $65 plan on the iPhone but it depends on how much voice / data you’re looking for.

Virgin isn’t CDMA (at least of the iPhone) there old network was but now they are a GSM network with LTE just like Bell, their parent company. There is a special variant of the iPhone 5 made specifically for the CDMA carriers which are Sprint and Verizon in the US and KDDI in Japan.

For more information on the GSM and CDMA iPhone 5 models visit http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

I’m on their old $15 (now $20 w/ CID & VM) voice + $5 data saver plan. Total bill usually comes out to $25 or $30 (each data bucket is +$5)

Thanks for all your replies but I decided to re-sign with Fido as I read only people in Wind zones are happy with Wind but those on the outer fringes (or close to outside the coverage zone) aren’t so happy. Plus I read ALOT of poor reviews re: service/customer service so I stuck with the devil I knew.

Yep, none of those companies are on CDMA…Koodo = TELUS, Virgin = Bell, both using the same LTE network actually
