LEAKED: New Rogers iPhone 3G Plans Coming October 1st
By now you should know that the 6GB/$30 data plan has been extended to the end of September. But what’s going to happen come October 1st? Well, Rogers has revised their iPhone plans and we are going to see some new drastic coming our way.
Remember the hideous plans introduced by Rogers that are still in existence? Let me refresh your memory with the following example:
$60/month
150 daytime
9pm evening/weekends
400MB data, 75 texts, Visual Voicemail
3 months unlimited local calling
Just reading that makes my stomach feel queasy! Anyways…we’ve been contacted by an anonymous source that has revealed the details on the new Rogers iPhone 3G plans coming our way as of October 1st!
$60/month will now get you…
250 daytime minutes
9pm evening/weekends
MY5 Local
1GB data, 75 texts, Visual Voicemail
3 months unlimited local calling
3 year contract
Notice how the big changes include an increase of 100 daytime, addition of MY5, and 600MB more. This is an improvement big time compared to before, but what’s going to nab your wallet is adding $7 for Caller ID or $5 for 7pm evenings or $7 for 5pm evenings.
There’s also a new $75 dollar plan. You will get…
400 daytime minutes
9pm evening/weekends
MY5 National
2GB data, 100 texts, Visual Voicemail
3 months unlimited local calling
3 year contract
So there you have it folks. These are the new iPhone 3G specific voice plans that will be coming our way on October 1st (along with new data plans). Mark your calendars because I know you’re…excited. What do you think?

From past experience, if you have wifi at home, 1GB is plenty! I only used 200MB for the month of August. However, the killer plan + the $15 iPhone value pack + $30/6GB seems better in my opinion.
Thanks for the info. These are a step up from the current ‘iPhone plans’ but $30 for 6gb is still way better and after adding texts and caller id, the price is still the same as adding the 6gb’s. Hopefully these come true, unlike the $30 unlimited data plan rumor.
It’ll be interesting for those of us who have the $30/6GB plans to see what our renewal options are going to be once our 3 year term is up. By then, iPhone 6G will be out and we’ll be going through all of this again 😀
I feel a bit like one of those people on talk shows who keep getting abused and stretch to see the bright side of it. Rogers is milking us, whipping us, and frankly none of the other providers are doing any less. They are all varying degrees of consumer exploitation that need to be legislated.
My plan is up in a couple months so I am really watching how each companies plans are shaping up. I really do not see anything that gets me into a smartphone of any kind for the type of money I feel is acceptable. What good is going to come of the spectrum auction everybody said was going to revolutionize canadian cell phone plans/companies?
I don’t if anyone else with a Rogers iPhone has noticed this but on Rogers if you miss a phone call you actually get a text message sent to you! And if someone sends you a voice mail you get another text message. So perhaps 75 text messages aren’t actually enough.
It’s 75 sent text messages. It’s free to receive text messages if you use Rogers. Unlike those Telus/Bell folk. Haha
Looks good…
i keep getting errors on u-tube,,,like format is not supported,..any answers on how to fix this???
What about about us already with the iPhone? Will I be able to get on this new plan?
Yes. However, remember that if you have the 6GB data plan, and your voice plan is under $30, you will be charged $50 extra for the iPhone 3G.
I have a corporate voice plan, at 26 $, but rogers will not allow me to upgrade to iphone at the promotional price. they are asking for 499 & 599 resp for 8 & 16 GB. any ideas of getting around this highway robbery
ceedee that is a ripp off I kept my 25$ month plan with fido but they charged me 349$ for the 16gb one, in the long run is a lot better ,tell them that. After tax I pAy something like 72,15$tax included
There is a student plan that is:
450 daytime min
My 10
Unlimited incoming
Unlimited after 6PM
And students get visual voicemail, texting and caller id for 10$.
wow where did you get this info if this truly exist i may call rogers tonight loll
You can find these student plans in stores…
do you how much it cost ?
because if it a good price a may call to change my plan !!!
Student Plans and Senior plans are nothing but age discrimination and should be ilegal
For some reason that plan seems too good to be true. Do you have a link to it?
I just signed a new Rogers contract and I’m set. I got their new student plan which gives me 250 daytime, evenings at 6, local my10, all for $20. They also give you a $5 credit if you ad a $15 value pack, so I added the iphone value pack and 6gs of data. My contract is 75 a month after tax and everything!
you have to remember its not JUST an easy $60 bucks.. that would be awsome but its more like $60 + $15 ( caller id, 2,500 text etc ) + $6.95 sys acc fee + .90 911fee + 12% taxes = arround 90 bucks…
what will the $15 and $20 value packs for iPhone be after oct. 1st?
