Final Fantasy V For iPhone Set To Hit The Japanese App Store Later This Month

Final Fantasy V

Acclaimed RPG Final Fantasy V will soon be hitting the Japanese App Store, and will be available for download later this month, Pocket Gamer is reporting. As expected, Final Fantasy’s smartphone port will boast improved visuals and touchscreen-optimised controls.

As of now, there’s no news on US or Canadian release date for Final Fantasy V. We’re also not sure which version of Square Enix’s most popular RPG will make it onto iOS.

“Squaresoft’s 1992 Super Nintendo hit will getting a 2D visual upgrade in its upcoming Smartphone port. The main feature of the smartphone version is the new touch screen controls”.

Final Fantasy V complete with new FMV sequences was ported to Sony PlayStation in 1998, and subsequently re-released with four new jobs on Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance.
