I’m trying OTA, but it says my software is up to date. I guess I’ll check later.

you need to be on wifi and it takes 10-15 minutes to download, to whole process takes about 25 min. I did it at Starbucks on Bank St, Ottawa.

It only took me about 5 minutes tops for both download and installation.
Disappointing that the panoramic camera feature wasn’t a part of this update…

Any word from the JBers if the exploit they’ve found has been patched by this update?

it depends on what exploit you are talking about, the one for the 4 (shatter) is still valid, they are working on something for the 4s. And there doesn’t seem to be a fix for whatever they were looking at in 5.0. In either case you should of updated to 5.0 or 5.0.1 if you rely on JB.

Let’s hope this fixes the slow iPad1 experience.  It will be nice to have gestures and would have been nice if they had added Airplay mirroring too.

Yep, same here, I actually stayed on the phone for 25min explaining to the Fido rep what a name display, he was insisting that I should save the phone number in my address book to get Name display to work!! finally a Tier2 support told me it is an issue with iOS 5, I had similar issue with iOS 4, fido says it is apple’s fault.

Holy crap. That’s brutal.
My 4S battery life was terrible before 5.0.1 and it is terrible after it.

Has anyone tried restarting your iPhone to see if the Name Display changes?

Just have it done on my 4 this afternoon. It’s so nice. Now my iPhone is truly free from docking with computer with wifi sync, iClude backup, and on device update.

Do NOT download this update under any circumstances. I made the mistake of doing the update on my iPhone 4, thinking it would make things better. Instead, it made things MUCH WORSE. My battery drained 10% WITHOUT BEING USED within 30 minutes. I can no longer get on-line unless I’m connected to Wi-Fi. Apple had better come up with a new fix ASAP!
