New speculation into the two iPhone models apparently coming this Fall have been ‘clarified’ via a J.P. Morgan analyst. Apple will launch the iPhone 5 alongside the upgraded ‘iPhone 4-Plus’ to cater to midrange buyers and growing markets such as China, according to AppleInsider.
Mark Moskowitz detailed the following notes to investors:
– iPhone 5 to be thinner, lighter, include CDMA/GSM for a ‘world phone’, no 4G/LTE, have a larger Retina Display, and a ‘significant’ change in design
“The new iPhone 5 stands to be based on the iPad 2’s A5 processor or a newer A6 version…We also expect 1GB of RAM to increase memory access times…Other improvements are increased battery life due to advancement in battery technologies, the printed circuit board (PCB), the touch screen, and LCD power consumption metrics.”
As for the iPhone 4-Plus?
“A second device (4-plus) based on the current iPhone 4 but with some minor improvements could target the midrange and focus on China…As for the current iPhone 4, we expect it to subsume 3GS as the lower-end offering.”
We’ve seen leaked ‘iPhone 5’ cases on DealExtreme that have revealed the tapered, thinner design, and as for the iPhone 4-Plus, that could be widely known as the former iPhone ‘4S’ that has kept on reappearing. Right now, it would appear two iPhone models could be announced, although nobody really knows.
