It was announced in April an official Steve Jobs biography would be released in 2012. The biography is to be written by Walter Isaacson and published by Simon & Schuster. The latter decided to go with the title “iSteve: The Book of Jobs”–turns out that isn’t going to fly anymore.
According to Fortune, the publicity department of Simon & Schuster came up with that cheesy title, but Walter Isaacson has decided go with something more simple, to reflect the simplicity of Apple and Jobs.
The new title? Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.
This definitely sounds much better than ‘iSteve’, as the iAnything name is definitely played out. Isaacson will add this title as his fourth major biography under his belt. Other biographies were written on former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Benjamin Franklin, and Einstein. He also managed to get exclusive access from Bill Gates in 1996 to help make Gates Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.
There’s no doubt this is the right man to write the biography on Steve Jobs, given his credentials. He’s been able to access family, colleagues at Apple, and even a tour of Jobs’ childhood home.
The biography is now available for pre-order from Amazon and is slated to be published on March 6, 2012. This will be one interesting biography you won’t want to miss.
