Watch The First Rovio ‘Bad Piggies’ Gameplay Footage [VIDEO]

Earlier this month Rovio hinted at a new gaming series called Bad Piggies with the release of a teaser video. It all seemed to be an Angry Bird spinoff, based on pigs.

The release date for the new Bad Piggies game is September 27th, also almost a week after the iPhone 5 release. It will come to iOS, Android, Macs, Windows phones, and PCs.

Yahoo Games has some exclusive footage of the Bad Piggies game today. It actually reminds me a lot of Angry Birds, but we finally get to leave a launching pad.

Rovio Mobile formed its company around Angry Birds, and Bad Piggies wasn’t meant to be a simple spinoff. A Rovio president even called the latest addition the complete opposite: (via Yahoo Games)

“As far as the gameplay goes, Bad Piggies and Angry Birds are complete opposites,” Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio told Y! Games. “Angry Birds smash things up, Bad Piggies build stuff. The pigs are all about making plans and building things, even — and especially — when they don’t work!”

If you really think about it, the objects in the two games are completely opposite, it’s the graphics that really share the spotlight.

So does Rovio’s Bad Piggies hit the spot? I suppose they may have another hit game under their belt.
