Apple to Reportedly Launch New MacBook Air Models Next Week

Earlier today, we told you Apple was set to release Powerbeats 4 later this month, suggesting a March product announcement was forthcoming.

Now, MacRumors reports a reliable tipster from the past has informed them Apple plans to announce new MacBook Air models, as soon as next week.

This week, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed new MacBook Air models with scissor keyboards would debut in Q2 of this year, getting ride of controversial butterfly keyboards (finally).

The last time Apple’s MacBook Air was updated was last year when True Tone displays were added, along with a slightly modified butterfly keyboard.



A major update to the MacBook Air lineup hasn’t come since the fall of 2018, when the laptop finally gained a Retina display, alongside Touch ID and a Force Touch trackpad.

“The first MacBook Air revolutionized Mac with its thin wedge-shaped aluminum design. It forever changed the entire industry for portable computers and became the world’s most loved notebook,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, at the time.
