A recent report from Korean website The Elec is claiming that this year’s iPhone XR will feature almost 6% larger battery than its predecessor (via MacRumors). The existing iPhone XR already has the longest battery life of any iPhone ever whereas the battery on the 2019 version is expected to last even longer.

China’s ATL (Ameperx Technology Limited) has kicked off mass production of batteries for the successor to Apple’s iPhone XR forecast to be unveiled later this year, according to those close to the matter on June 9. Battery packaging will be done by another Chinese firm, Huapu Technology.

The supplier-focused Korean source claims that the 2019 iPhone XR will have a capacity of 3,110 mAh, which is nearly 5.7% more than the 2,942 mAh battery in the current germination iPhone XR.

It must be noted that even though the next iPhone XR may sport a larger battery, it will still be smaller in capacity than the 3,174 mAh battery in the existing iPhone XS Max. But since the XS Max consumes a lot more battery, the iPhone XR offers a better battery life.

Previous reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo have also claimed that battery capacities for the next iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR are all expected to see a noticeable increase.
