This tablet has an HD display with a 1280×800 resolution (216 ppi) and 10 hours of battery life, putting it in competition with the iPad mini and Retina iPad mini based on price.

Amazon.com has a similar $50 off sale for the USA, pegging this 7-inch Kindle Fire HD at $119 USD. The USA also has the Fire HDX on sale for $50 off, but of course Canada does not.
The sale is limited to one per Canadian customer only and quantities are limited, with the sale valid only on December 2, 2013. Amazon.ca launched pre-orders for the Kindle Fire HD and HDX back in October, after announcing them quietly in late-September in the USA.
