Back in September 2018, Amazon announced a plethora of new devices, including the Echo Link and Echo Link Amp for the U.S. market. As of today, these two products are now available in Canada.
Echo Link allows you to stream hi-fi music to your existing stereo system, while bringing Amazon’s Alexa assistant with it. All you have to do is hook up Echo Link to your existing receiver or amplifier. Echo Link is priced at $269.99 in Canada.
Echo Link Amp is the same as the Echo Link, allowing you to stream and amplify hi-fi music to your speakers, but is powered by a 2 channel, 60W at 8 Ohms, Class D Digital Amplifier. Echo Link Amp is priced at $399.99 in Canada.
Both Echo Link and Echo Link Amp do not have microphones and can be controlled with the Alexa app or another Echo device at home. Echo Link lets you add your speakers to a multi-room group with other Echo devices, to let you play music everywhere in your home or select rooms only.
Amazon told iPhone in Canada, both Echo Link and Echo Link Amp “are tailor-made to be compatible with your existing audio equipment, so you can play music from your current system that you already love.”
