Amazon ‘Prime Day’ Coming with “More Deals Than Black Friday”, Canada Included

Next week Amazon will celebrate its 20th birthday and to highlight the company’s milestone, the online retail giant is launching a global shopping event called Prime Day, exclusive to its Prime members in Canada, the U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, and Austria.

“Prime Day is a one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe. Members tell us every day how much they love Prime and we will keep making it better,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President Amazon Prime.

Amazon says it will have more ‘deals’ than Black Friday for its Prime members, starting at midnight PDT on July 15, with new deals launching as fast as every 10 minutes, to go with “thousands” of Lightning Deals and Deals of the Day.

Greeley continued to say “If you’re not already a Prime member, you’ll want to join so you don’t miss out on one of the biggest deals extravaganzas in the world.”

The company has also launched a #PrimeLiving photo contest, where users can enter for a chance to win a $10,000 Amazon Gift Card in each Prime-eligible country, by sharing a picture of how Prime helped “enable some of their happy moments.”

I’ve been using Amazon Prime in Canada for less than a year now, and it’s pretty great. There’s nothing like being able to order diapers for your kid from your iPhone–that arrive in two days on your doorstep.
