According to Bloomberg, Apple has acquired United Kingdom-based startup, AI Music, says reporter Mark Gurman.

AI Music has a slogan that says, “music that listens to you.” The company was created back in October 2016 by Siavash Mahdavi, its founder and CEO.

Mahdavi’s LinkedIn still lists his position with AI Music, but the company’s page hasn’t received an update in months, while the company’s website also no longer is online.

The Apple acquisition happened in the “recent weeks”, with two dozen AI Music employees part of the startup. The AI technology can make songs using royalty-free music on the fly, based on a user’s mood or environment.

Bloomberg says the London-based AI Music uses artificial intelligence to curate custom music, with the company’s feature possibly being leveraged across Apple’s audio offerings.
