Apple Canada Trade-In Offer: iPhone XR from $649, iPhone XS from $999

After launching trade-in offers for iPhone XR and iPhone XS in the United States, Apple has debuted a similar offer here in Canada.

Smack dab in prime ‘above-the-fold’ real estate on Apple.ca, the company says a new “limited time” offer means you can get “iPhone XR from $649. iPhone XS from $999.”

Of course, there’s always a catch when it comes to these lusty-worthy advertised trade-in prices.

According to the fine print, the prices shown are after a customer trades in an iPhone 7 Plus, suggesting this is the market Apple is targeting for an upgrade:

iPhone XR and XS pricing is after trade-in of iPhone 7 Plus. Additional trade-in values available for a limited time only and require purchase of a new iPhone, subject to availability and limits. Trade-in values vary based on the condition, year and configuration of your trade-in device. This offer is for in-store trade-in only, and is not available online. You must be at least 18 years old. In-store trade-in requires presentation of a valid, government-issued photo ID (local law may require saving this information). Additional terms from Apple or Apple’s trade-in partners may apply.

An iPhone XR starts at $1029 CAD, while an iPhone XS starts at $1379 CAD. The advertised promo prices suggest an iPhone 7 Plus trade-in value of $380 (most likely for a device in excellent condition).

While analysts have suggested iPhone XR demand is lower than expected, last month, Apple declared the model was the ‘most popular’ model since its launch.

With Boxing Day around the corner, you can expect more deals coming for iPhone XR and more from Apple’s authorized retailers and wireless partners.
