Apple Releases New Firmware for AirPods Pro, AirPods, AirPods Max, MagSafe Charger

Apple has released new firmware updates for its AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, AirPods 2, AirPods 3 and MagSafe charger. Check out what’s available below:

  • AirPods Pro firmware 4.2 (4C165)
  • AirPods 3 firmware 4.2 (4C165)
  • AirPods Max firmware 4.2 (4C165)
  • AirPods 2 firmware 4.2 (4C165)
  • MagSafe Charger firmware 247.0 (10M229)

No word on what’s new, but you can check the firmware of your AirPods by connecting them to your iOS device, then going to Settings > Bluetooth > Tap your AirPods > Scroll down to ‘About’.

How to update your AirPods? First, you’ll need to put them back into the charging case, then charge them and place them next to your iOS device. It may take up to 30 minutes or more and happens on its own; there’s no way to force the firmware update.
