If you have an Apple Store near you, Reserve and Pick Up has returned this year for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.
The service allows you to reserve an iPhone of your choice, then lets you select an Apple Store to pick up the phone. Availability starts on October 23, 2020, the launch date of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.
“When you arrive at the store, a Specialist will help you activate your new iPhone and set up your carrier plan,” explains the Apple website.
You’re allowed to select up to two iPhone units per Reserve and Pick Up order. Apple is pushing trade-in hard on the site it’s mentioned as an option for customers to save money on a new iPhone.
Once you’ve select your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro configuration, the next step will ask you to sign in with your Apple ID. After that, you can select the date and time for Reserve and Pick Up, with time slots set at 15 minute intervals.
You can also set the name of your iPhone pick up contact if you can’t make it. There are 29 Apple Stores in Canada listed within Reserve and Pick Up.
“Your reservation is valid for pickup only at the Apple Store that you selected. If you do not pick up your selected item(s) by the designated date and time, your reservation will be cancelled and your item(s) will be returned to stock,” explains the fine print.
“Number of reservations per customer may be limited. Apple reserves the right to refuse, limit or cancel a reservation if Apple determines that a customer has provided misleading or fraudulent information and/or abused, disrupted or attempted to circumvent the reservation system,” adds a footnote, seemingly allowing Apple to limit scalpers.
“We will send you text messages regarding your reservation to your mobile number you provide. Message and data rates may apply,” adds Apple.
