Canada’s Wonderland amusement park in Vaughan, Ontario, has added new mobile payment options at the fare gates.

A partnership with OTT Pay means WeChat and Alipay can now be used at front gates to purchase tickets and season passes, which will “seamlessly connect the amusement park to Chinese consumers.”

“This partnership helps us accommodate the diversity of our guests and their preferred payment methods,” said Norm Pirtovshek, Canada’s Wonderland General Manager, in a press release. “As guest demographics and preferences change, we’re adapting so we can make it easier for our guests to purchase tickets and enjoy a day at the park.”

Also new, according to Canada’s Wonderland, is the “first North American amusement and entertainment organizations to launch an official WeChat account and Alipay Discovery account.” This allows the park to send news and other information directly to customers.

“By making China’s most popular payment methods available to guests, Canada’s Wonderland is among thousands of other Canadian businesses using OTT Pay to strengthen connections to a growing Chinese consumer market,” explains both companies.

Canada’s Wonderland has over 200 attractions, which includes 17 rollercoasters, a 20-acre water park named Splash Works and more, across its 300-acre footprint. Customers can also buy tickets with their iOS app.
