Online shopping on Costco.ca is going to get easier and more secure during checkout, as Mastercard has announced Masterpass will soon launch in the coming weeks in Canada for the big box retailer’s online store.
“Canadians are increasingly shopping online and expect an experience that is fast, convenient and secure,” said Iain McLean, Senior Vice President, Canada Market Development at Mastercard in a press release. “With Masterpass available at Costco.ca, members get the checkout experience they have come to expect with Masterpass, plus the excellent offers available from Costco.”
The expansion comes as part of the Mastercard relationship started in 2014, after Costco ended its partnership with American Express, at their 97 warehouses in Canada.
What makes Masterpass easy and secure is it stores payment info and shipping info in one place. All users need to do is sign into Masterpass at checkout, then complete their purchase, saving time from re-entering credit card numbers and addresses.

I agree. These companies don’t get it. I want to use app for payment. I don’t want to use a bunch of apps for each credit card company. Costco bring Apple Pay for CapitalOne master card.
